290 Eastbound Ramp to US Route 62 (Niagara Falls Boulevard) Southbound:

The New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) has announced that construction will begin on the Interstate 290 interchange with US Route 62 (Niagara Falls Boulevard), in the town of Tonawanda, Erie County, beginning Thursday, August 12, 2010. As a result, this interchange will be subject to ramp closures as follows:

Interstate 290 Eastbound Ramp to US Route 62 (Niagara Falls Boulevard) Southbound:

The Interstate 290 eastbound ramp to US Route 62 (Niagara Falls Boulevard) southbound will be closed to all traffic on Thursday, August 12, 2010 at 10:00 p.m. The ramp will remain closed for approximately 2-3 weeks. A posted detour will direct traffic to continue eastbound on Interstate 290 to Exit 5, NY Route 263 (Millersport Highway). Traffic will then be directed to exit Interstate 290 eastbound and re-enter on Interstate 290 westbound, and proceed to Exit 3, US Route 62 (Niagara Falls Boulevard).

Southbound US Route 62 (Niagara Falls Boulevard) to Interstate 290 Eastbound:

The US Route 62 (Niagara Falls Boulevard) southbound ramp to Interstate 290 eastbound will be closed to all traffic on Thursday, August 12, 2010 at 10:00 p.m. The ramp will remain closed for approximately 2-3 weeks. A posted detour will direct traffic to NY Route 425 (Colvin Boulevard), where traffic may then access Interstate 290 eastbound at Exit 2.

All motorists using the posted detours are advised to follow the posted speed limits along the detour routes.
