AT 402 AM EDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED

THUNDERSTORMS WITH HEAVY RAINFALL WAS WEAKENING. DOPPLER RADAR

ESTIMATED A COUPLE INCHES OF RAIN HAS FALLEN AT SOME LOCATIONS. MORE

SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WILL MOVE BACK INTO THE AREA AFTER

DAYBREAK.

MORE THUNDERSTORMS WILL PRODUCE VERY HEAVY RAINFALL IN THE WARNED

AREA. RUNOFF FROM THIS EXCESSIVE RAINFALL WILL CAUSE FLASH FLOODING

TO OCCUR. SOME LOCATIONS THAT WILL EXPERIENCE FLOODING

INCLUDE...ERIE...ALBION...CORRY...EDINBORO...GIRARD...NORTH

EAST...UNION CITY AND WATERFORD.

A Tornado Warning is in effect for the following:

That National Weather Service in Buffalo and the National Tornado Prediction Center have issued a Tornado Warning for Western Cattaragus County in Western New York. This includes the City of Salamanca, Southeastern Chautauqua County in Western new York. This includes the City of Jamestown

National Weather Service Doppler Weather Radar indicated a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado 3 miles west of Lakewood, NY or 7 miles west of Jamestown, moving Northeast at 50 MPH . Other locations in the warning include but are not limited to; Frewsburg, Falcomer and Allegany Park.

 PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... THE SAFEST PLACE TO BE DURING A TORNADO IS IN A BASEMENT. GET UNDER A WORKBENCH OR OTHER PIECE OF STURDY FURNITURE. IF NO BASEMENT IS AVAILABLE...SEEK SHELTER ON THE LOWEST FLOOR OF THE BUILDING IN AN INTERIOR HALLWAY OR ROOM SUCH AS A CLOSET. USE BLANKETS OR PILLOWS TO COVER YOUR BODY AND ALWAYS STAY AWAY FROM WINDOWS. IF IN MOBILE HOMES OR VEHICLES...EVACUATE THEM AND GET INSIDE A SUBSTANTIAL SHELTER. IF NO SHELTER IS AVAILABLE...LIE FLAT IN THE NEAREST DITCH OR OTHER LOW SPOT AND COVER YOUR HEAD WITH YOUR HANDS.

NYS Weather Statement Update

Summary of Notice:
National Weather Service has updated their previous Special Weather Statement to inform the public that a line of thunderstorms extended from Medina, NY to Jamestown, NY it is moving approximately 35 MPH and will reach Darien Lake and Batavia NY at approximately 9:15 - 9:30. It will reach Salamanca at approximately 9:30 PM and Olean, NY by 10 PM. 

Activities: 
Strong Winds, Heavy Downpours including up to 1/2 inch in an hour some lightning and heavy winds, 

Buffalo Metro:
Activity has ended in association with this weather event.

Tonawanda, NY: (Unofficial Direct Oberservation: Light Rain.)
