National Weather Service has announced that there will be strong thunderstorms overnight as a warm and humid air mass is in place across Western New York. According to NWS, the unstable air mass will be a great incubator for widespread showers and thunderstorms during the course of the overnight. An approaching cold front will help to make many of the storms quite strong and poentially severe.

NWS issued a warning earlier tonight for Tornadoes in the Southern Tier, but there has been no indication if we are out of the woods completely in reference to the most severe weather.

We can expect; prolonged torrential downpours, frequent cloud to ground lightning, Wind gusts in excess of 40 MPH. The Western Southern Tier will, as uaual get the brundt of the storm activity.

Currently there is also a weather advisory in Cleveland, Ohio.
